International Mother Language Day
The International Mother Language Day is observed worldwide
by UNESCO showing respect to the languages of the nations of the world. It is a
great achievement for the Bengali to have its own mother language day as an
international mother language day. UNESCO declared our mother language day as
the International Mother Language Day on November 7, 1997. With this
declaration our mother tongue Bangla got an international recognition. This
great occasion remind us the heroic sons of the soil who sacrificed their lives
to glorify our mother language. Barket, Salam, Jabber and Rafiq were among
those who sacrificed their lives to this great cause. They kissed death at shot
of the Pakistani ruler. On this day, the entire nation shows its respect to the
heroic sons for their supreme sacrifice with respect and gravity. Various
programmers are taken to observe the day. We start the program offering the
bouquet of flower at the feet of the Shaheed Minar. The President and the Prime
Minister pay their tribute to the martyrs in the morning and deliver their
messages. Besides, the people of the world pay their homage to the martyrs and
feel their respective languages. Actually, we are proud of our heroic sons who
have brought this honor to our nation. This day teaches us to be determined to
fulfill the motives for which our valiant sons sacrificed their lives
Thankyou for reminding us that Thursday is International Mother Tongue Day.
